Description

A5 Landscape. 70 illustrated pages. ISBN 978-1-9164261-2-2.

This publication, researched and written by Jim Baldwin, tells the stories of 5 ‘sons of Hoar Oak Cottage’ who were engaged in either World War I or II. The book aims to shine a light on the extraordinary stories of brothers James, Thomas and Samuel Johnstone as well as their nephews Edward Bowden and Frank Johnstone – all Exmoor men descended from Hoar Oak Cottage – and to honour their sacrifices, in some cases the ultimate sacrifice, that they made for us all.
